We are thrilled to announce Monday, August 24, 2009, as our official launch day!

Thanks to you – our founding and beta members – for helping us get to this point. Our launch was made possible by all of your feedback, encouragement, and valuable contributions.

We're obviously just getting started, but on this special day, we wanted to share some facts on the current state of the Fanbase almanac:
  • 1,741,397 college and pro athletes
  • 20,723 teams
  • 23 sports
  • 500,000+ unique visitors since our beta launch in late July
  • 60,000+ contributions from our founding and beta members
You can read all of our press coverage, including our feature article in the New York Times. We hope that our public launch will result in many more users seeing your contributions – and making their own.

Best regards,

The Fanbase Team

This site has enormous potential. I'm impressed with what's here so far - no details yet, but names from our now defunct minor league hockey team in Fresno (you need to update the team site with this fact).

Appreciate it, Dinur. BTW, your thread on "How did you become a fan?" is one of the coolest discussions on Fanbase.
