Beavers resorted to ball control with strong southern breeze and increasing rain.

The line, led by C Joe Fulwyler, G Bill Johnson, T Howard Buettgenbach and E Wes Ediger, pushed back Oregon for Korean War vet HB Ralph Carr to make key runs.

Game's only score came in 1st QT as QB George Shaw moved to HB and went out for pass in flat from QB Barney Holland. Holland's throw bounced off Shaw's chest and into arms of FB/LB Tommy Little, who slogged 30 yds untouched for score.

Little's father, Frank, had scored key TD in 1930 to beat Oregon.
