Edited the career summary for Patrick Ewing.
  • Added player career summary for New York Knicks:
    "11× NBA All-Star (1986, 1988–1997) All-NBA First Team (1990) 6× All-NBA Second Team (1988–1989, 1991–1993, 1997) 3× NBA All-Defensive Second Team (1988–1989, 1992) NBA Rookie of the Year (1986) NBA All-Rookie First Team (1986) Naismith College Player of the Year (1985) Adolph Rupp Trophy (1985)"
  • Changed player career summary for Georgetown Hoyas Men's Basketball
    from:
"In his freshman year, Patrick Ewing didn't start in the Hoyas 1981-82 season opener in Anchorage, AK against Southwestern Louisiana, scoring seven points in 18 minutes. But in the second game, he was inserted into the starting lineup and never left it after his17 point, 14 rebound effort. After leading Hoyas to impressive victories over St. Johns and Missouri during the season, Ewing entered the 1982 NCAA tournament, he was named All-Big East, a second team All-America selection, the Big East Rookie of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, and the odds-on choice for national freshman of the year. His 469 points that season was second all-time by a Georgetown freshman, while his 119 blocks set a Georgetown record nearly twice that of the previous mark. The Hoyas reached the 1982 NCAA final where it faced North Carolina. The game was Ewing's shining moment of the season. Ordered by John Thompson to make a statement early in the game, Ewing goal-tended each of North Carolina's first five shots and finished the game with: 23 points (10-15 from the floor), 11 rebounds, three steals, and two blocks. Ewing finished his freshman year ,averaging 12.7 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.2 blocks per game . In Ewing's sophomore year (the 1982-83 season), Ewing was named a first team All-America and All Big East, Ewing averaged 17 points and 10 rebounds for a young team that featured three sophomores, a junior, and two freshmen in key positions all season. During his junior year (1983-84), the Hoyas fell eight points short of an undefeated regular season, losses to DePaul, Villanova. For the season, Ewing shot 66 percent from the field, while averaging 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 3.6 blocks a game. Ewing averaged 23 points a game during the 1984 Big East tournament, with a 27 point, 16 rebound performance against Syracuse in an epic title game. In the first round of the NCAA Tournament with SMU, the Mustangs Ewing's tipped in Gene Smith’s missed free throw for the game winning basket. After wins over UNLV and Dayton, and Kentucky, Ewing led the Hoyas to the national final, where a true team effort led the Hoyas past Houston, 84-75. Ewing finished the game 10 points and nine rebounds. During his senior year (1984-85 season), the Hoyas were only a few points short of an undefeated season, with narrow losses to St. John's, Syracuse, and Villanova in the national final. He averaged 14.6 points and 9.2 rebounds for the season. Ewing earned several honors such as being named Consensus All-American and voted Player of the Year by several organizations. "
