2014-10-19 Giants at Cowboys 2014: Giants looking for the upset - Use this as your first-half open thread for today's Giants-Cowboys game. The New York Giants (3-3) hope AT&T Stadium, a place that has been good to them over the years, is kind to them again Sunday vs. the Dallas Cowboys (5-1). The Giants are 4-1 in the Jerry-Dome. They need a victory today to keep themselves within realistic striking distance of the Cowboys and 5-1 Philadelphia Eagles. Cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, battling leg and back injuries, will play today for the Giants. The Giants' inactives are as follow: Running back Rashad Jennings, offensive lineman Adam Snyder, defensive end Kerry Wynn, offensive lineman James Brewer, offensive guard Brandon Mosley, defensive tackle Jay Bromley, wide receiver Corey Washington. Newly-signed wide receiver Kevin Ogletree is active. I am sure the fact that the rookie Washington is inactive will cause some gnashing of teeth. 2014-10-05 Giants vs. Falcons 2014: Can Giants climb above .500? - Here is your open thread for Sunday's Giants-Falcons game. EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Odell Beckham Jr. will make his NFL debut today when the rookie wide receiver suits up for the New York Giants when they host the Atlanta Falcons at 1 p.m. ET. Middle linebacker Jon Beason will not play, missing his fourth straight game with a foot injury. Here are all of the Giants' inactives: MLB Jon Beason, DE Kerry Wynn, WR. Julian Talley, DT Jay Bromley, OL Adam Snyder, OL James Brewer, OT Charles Brown There is also this to consider today: The Falcons have not won a road game outdoors since Thanksgiving Weekend 2012, a span of nine games. — Art Stapleton (@art_stapleton) October 5, 2014 ROSTER MOVE: The Giants waived linebacker Dan Fox and signed cornerback Chandler Fenner to the active roster on Saturday. Fenner had been with the Giants practice squad. Big Blue View

2014-09-26 DeSean Jackson expected to play for Redskins vs. Giants - DeSean Jackson seems unlikely to miss tonight's game against the Giants You don't really expect wide receiver DeSean Jackson, listed as questionable on the Washington Redskins injury report, to miss Thursday night's game against the New York Giants, do you? The Redskins reportedly don't [by the way, Giants fans, don't click that link unless you want to torture yourself], with our friends at Hogs Haven saying Jackson "will play ... as expected." The official list of inactives will be out at around 7:30 p.m. ET an hour before kickoff. For the Giants, we know that linebacker Devon Kennard and wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. will be on that list. Middle linebacker Jon Beason, listed as doubtful, is also expected to be on the list. Who else will be inactive? It's a good bet defensive end Kerry Wynn, inactive for every game thus far, won't get a uniform tonight. That's four. My guess? Rookie defensive tackle Jay Bromley will be inactive since Markus Kuhn is back, and injured offensive linemen James Brewer (back) and Charles Brown (shoulder) also probably won't dress. We will find out for sure in a couple of hours. Big Blue View

2014-09-21 Texans vs. Giants 2014: New York Giants Going For Their First Win - This is your open thread for the Texans and Giants game on Sunday. The 0-2 New York Giants host the 2-0 Houston Texans on Sunday in Week 3. The Giants are coming off two straight losses to the start the season while the Texans, who won just two games all of last season, are now unbeaten in their first two weeks of the season. Teams that start 0-2 only make the playoffs 12 percent of the team. One of those teams was the 2007 Giants, who ended up winning the Super Bowl. An 0-3 start would mean a two percent of making the playoffs while teams that start 1-2 since 1990 make the playoffs 25 percent of the time. The Giants came into the game as underdogs at home to the Houston Texans, but that changed with the news that Texans running back Arian Foster will miss the game with an injured hamstring You can find score updates at NFL.com (or the comments below).
